± Braun's suspension based on non-analytical findings as part of the Biogenesis investigation. His suspension is deemed a first-time violation of the JDA as his prior 50-game suspension for elevated levels of testosterone was rescinded in Feb of 2012. With it, the league, MLBPA, and Braun negotiated the suspension around the "just cause" non-analytical findings as 50 games for a first offense, followed by 15 games for lying, etc. to the league as part of investigations into PED use. Braun does not exercise his right to have the case heard as an appeal through the grievance process by independent arbitrator, Fredric Horowitz. His suspension started immediately from 7/22/13 through the regular season and into any potential postseason play. Braun will miss the rest of the season and is eligible to come back in 2014. Braun loses, and the Brewers save, $3,019,125.

* Rodriguez given 162 game suspension based on ruling by arbitrator Fredric Horowitz (read the ruling). Rodriguez appealing to a federal court

ß Cruz does not appeal suspension as part of non-analytical findings from Biogenesis investigation (MORE DETAILS SOON)

≡ Tejada receives the second-longest suspension handed down by MLB behind only Alex Rodriguez pending 211 game suspension, which could see those games lowered, or overturned entirely. Tejada tested positive twice in close proximity to each other thus garnering a 25 game and 80 game suspension concurrently for a total of 105 games. The drug agreement between the players and the league states that for a first positive test for stimulants, a player receives no suspension, but follow-up testing. Therefore Tejada has tested positive three times. If he were to come back and play after a lengthy suspension, and test positive again, he would be banned from the game for life. Tejada released a statement through the MLB Players Association saying, ““I apologize to my teammates, the Royals organization and to the Kansas City fans. I have a medical condition that requires medication to treat. I took that medication while re-applying for a Therapeutic Use Exemption. Under the requirements of the Joint Drug Program, I made a mistake in doing so.” Sources confirm that the Therapeutic Use Exemption was for Adderall, a powerful stimulant used to treat ADD and ADHD. The exemption expired on April 15 of this year but Tejada did not get it renewed.
