South Coast LeagueCONYERS, GA – The South Coast League of Professional Baseball, the southeast’s newest independent baseball league, is pleased to announce the addition of Kurt Hunzeker as Director of Corporate Development. His responsibilities will include overseeing the corporate development and promotions departments for the SCL, with a focus on establishing league-wide corporate partnerships.

The St. Louis native also works with numerous companies and agencies as a consultant in various marketing capacities. His clients include KiDS ScoreCard, OneSuite Sports and a number of sports properties.

“Working for a sports property, especially one with the talent, community support and resources of the South Coast League, is simply a dream come true for me,” explained Hunzeker. “Since I sat on the other side of the sponsorship equation in previous jobs, I know what companies look for and need to justify their sponsorship investment, and I am looking forward to building innovative programs, generating new revenues and maintaining lasting relationships with our corporate partners.”

Working in the sports business industry throughout his career, Hunzeker spearheaded the NBA Jam Van mobile marketing campaign, served as an editor for a leading sports marketing publication, authored a book on sports advertising and led an award-winning, multi-city event platform for Nike. More than 500 unique visitors read his online sports marketing blog each month. He now lives in Atlanta with his wife, Catrina.

“Adding someone like Kurt to our staff is going to pay immediate dividends for the league,” shared South Coast League CEO Jamie Toole. "He is an established name in the sports business industry and we’re excited to have him on board.”

The South Coast League’s inaugural 90-game season opens in May of 2007. The South Coast League will be a six-team based independent professional baseball league located in the Southeastern U.S.
