MLBNo Yankees or Phillies players opted for free agency today after the World Series, but on the first day that players could do so as part of Article XX B (2) of the Basic Agreement,  79 other players did, including Matt Holiday of the St. Louis Cardinals, John Lackey of the Los Angeles Angels of Anahiem, Carlos Delgado of the Mets, and Andrian Beltre of the Mariners.
