Terry PendletonTerry Pendleton will interview this coming week with the Washington Nationals. The Nationals fired Frank Robinson on September 30th and plan to interview Lou Pinella and Joe Girardi, as well, for the vacancy.

As reported:

The Nationals received permission from Braves general manager John Schuerholz to talk to Pendleton, 46, a former National League MVP who has served five seasons as Atlanta's hitting coach. He's scheduled to meet next week with Nationals general manager Jim Bowden, who will come to Atlanta for the interview.

A person familiar with the situation said Pendleton, who has three children ages 5, 14 and 16, would have to be "blown away" by any offer before he'd consider leaving Atlanta, where his family lives year-round.

The Los Angeles native was a leading candidate for the Dodgers' managerial post last year, but Pendleton pulled out before the final interview, citing his desire to be with his family in Atlanta during the season.
