DRaysThe Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Tampa Bay Devil Rays Minor League player James Houser, Jr. has been suspended for 50 games, effective today, for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Houser is currently with Double-A Montgomery of the Southern League.

Houser represents the 20th minor league drug violation, along with 3 major league violations bringing the total to 23 for all of 2007. By comparison, 20 minor league players had been suspended for being in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program at this point last year.
