Twins Groundbreaking Set for Aug. 30thThe Minnesota Twins have announced that August 30th will now be the day for the official groundbreaking of their new 40,000-seat ballpark, scheduled to open in spring of 2010.

The date had been initial scheduled for Thurs. Aug. 2nd, but was postponed due to the I-35W bridge collapse tragedy on Weds. the 1st.

Groundbreaking ceremonies are slated to start at 5 p.m. CT and go until 7 p.m. with Commissioner Selig, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, as well as current and former Twins players.
